 – 434 days at the Ecuadorian Embassy.
Chelsea Manning has been in prison for 1188 days.  
Jeremy Hammond has been in prison without sentencing for 540 days. 
A secret Grand Jury on WikiLeaks has been active for 1073 days.

WikiLeaks News:

  • Stratfor emails released by WikiLeaks show that Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian met with members of global intelligence firm Stratfor and emailed them a proposal for social media consulting.
    • Reddit seems to be censoring this news, with many people notice deletion and removal of pages on it, as well as the marking of it as an “unreliable source”.
  • WikiLeaks has been tweeting out information on Syria revealed in Cablegate and the GI Files.
  • WikiLeaks released 3758 Stratfor emails on Zambia, including 21 sensitive emails.
  • NYT eXaminer analysed a document they received through FOIA which discussed a meeting between the State Department and The New York Times regarding WikiLeaks.
  • An article in The New York Times discusses how the U.S. war on leaks has been pitting journalists against journalists, with many members of the media attacking Julian Assange and Glenn Greenwald.
    • Further on the same issue, journalist Jeffrey Toobin has been attacking both Assange and Greenwald for using “stolen” material, while disregarding his own theft of classified documents for a book he was writing.
  • Actor Daniel Brühl was interviewed about his role as Daniel Domscheit-Berg in DreamWorks’ WikiLeaks film “The Fifth Estate”.

Julian Assange News:

  • Julian Burnside QC spoke on the “great Julian Assange myth”: that he has been charged with a crime. The interview is part of an independent documentary known as “The Assange Agenda”.
  • Juice Rap News released a press statement on how Julian Assange got involved in their latest episode on the Australian election. Daniel Sher, brother of Rap News’ Giordano Nanni, also wrote on the experience.
  • In a recent interview, Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño discussed how Julian Assange’s human rights continue to be violated by the UK’s refusal to give him safe passage to Ecuador.

Chelsea Manning News:

  • The Private Manning Support Network (formerly Bradley Manning Support Network) put out a press release announcing their new name and providing clarification on Chelsea Manning’s next stage of her life.
  • The New York Times and AP have issued statements saying they will refer to Pvt. Manning as Chelsea and use female pronouns, joining Huffington Post, MSNBC, and Slate. Other news outlets, including The Washington Post, The Daily Beast, CNN, and Fox, will continue to use Bradley and masculine pronouns.

  • Video is available of the benefit held for Jeremy Hammond and Barrett Brown which was hosted by Sam Seder and included speeches from Alexa O’Brien, Birgitta Jónsdóttir, Michael Ratner, Jay Leiderman, and many others.
