WikiLeaks News:
  • Just Foreign Policy has a $11909 reward to WikiLeaks, should they release the negotiating text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. People are able to increase the reward with donations.
  • WikiLeaks released new GI Files on Blackwater contractors killed during a suicide bombing, Stratfor on Catalan Separatism, and mass people suicides and Foxconn.
  • Barrett Brown discussed TrapWire, OpTrapWire, and the criminal state in a series of videos and a blogpost.

Julian Assange News:
  • Australia confirmed that it had been preparing for Julian Assange's potential extradition to the U.S.
  • Julian Assange is set to give a statement in front of the Ecuadorian Embassy at 2PM BST tomorrow, August 19. Baltasar Garzon will also speak outside the Embassy at 11:30 AM and will be available for interviews.
  • Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa discussed Julian Assange during his weekly address, stressing that he was granted asylum due to lack of assurances against extradition to a third country which "would put at risk [his] life and freedom". He also condemned UK's threat to enter the Embassy as "intolerable" and "an explicit threat".
  • Swedish state TV SVT published an article about how Swedish journalists are lying about Julian Assange, repeating factual errors, and writing about him in disparaging terms. WikiLeaks called this a "a significant political opening" in light of their media climate.
  • INTERPOL has dedicated the majority of it's front page to state that the Red Notice issued on December 1, 2010 against Julian Assange is still in force.
  • WikiLeaks tweeted last night that the large police presence around the Ecuadorian Embassy continues, with at least 25 officers and vans around at 2AM.
  • George Galloway MP slammed the UK for its threats to storm the Ecuadorian Embassy, asking if there was anyone out there who believed Britain would do this over the sex allegations in Sweden.
  • An article in The Hindu discussed how both the U.S. and the UK could face embarrassment from the OAS meeting on the UK's threats against Ecuador, which will convene on August 24 in Washington DC.

 Bradley Manning News:
  • The Bradley Manning Support Network is planning a nation-wide occupation of Obama's campaign offices on September 6, during the Democratic National Convention.
  • Lawyer Phillip D. Cave wrote about how the lack of transparency in Bradley Manning's case undermines the reliability of the future verdict.
